This site may be different in a lot of ways than the other sites tagged "cool sites", but this is indeed the coolest site amongst all. As part of the mission to ensure us a safer country to live in, Kiran Bedi , the highest ranking woman in IPS, has started this website Safer India.
Most of us are deterred from lodging a complaint with the police station because of their notoriety in harassing the complainant. Now this all is set to change with Safer India allowing us to register a complain online itself. But few things should be clear before using this service. First of all Safer India is not an investigating agency, it is just a portal to connect us with the police. Also false complaints will not be tolerated. And it would make sense to make yourself aware of all the rules & regulations of this site before lodging an official complaint. And one can lodge a complaint only if one has been turned away by the police i.e you have to follow the normal procedure before you can avail of this service. I think such measures are definetly necessary to keep crooks at bay from misusing this service.
