SPURS sweep CAVS !!!

The San Antonio Spurs won their 4th NBA title by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in a 7 game series. The Spurs have won all 4 of their appearances in the NBA Finals with previous titles won in 1999, 2003 & 2005. The Spurs have now joined the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls as the only teams in NBA history to win four titles.

Tim Duncan won his 4th NBA ring in his 10th year in the NBA. The 31 year old was ecstatic on the court when the final buzzer rang. Duncan, on the court to the final second, jumped up and down, caught teammate Bruce Bowen for a bear hug, and held his arms above his head as a champion once again. "It never gets old, it never gets old. Unbelievable,'' Duncan said. "Such a great run, a great journey, a great bunch of guys, it's unbelievable.'' Duncan, one of the best center/power forwards ever to play in the league, has led the Spurs with discipline, dedication and diligence. "We've come so far as a group of guys going through our ups and downs and learning from them. It is such a relief to finally get it done,'' Duncan said.

Parker, who averaged 24.5 points on 57 percent shooting, became the first European-born player to be honored as MVP. Parker won the MVP trophy, outplaying Tim Duncan who had won in the previous 3 championship wins. While Parker was handed over the trophy, his fiance was wiping off her tears.

Manu Ginobili was brilliant in the 4th Quarter scoring 13 of his 27 points. Spurs a truly professional side under coach Greg Popovich finsihed it off in style.

Its very easy to forget the Defensive Brialliance of Bruce Bowen - an outstanding and physical defender. Bruce had to guard some amazing players in the playoffs from Steve Nash, Deron Williams & Lebron James. His timely 3 pointers have helped SPURS a lot in crucial times especially in Game 3 when the big trio of Duncan, Parker & Ginobili were having a tough time scoring.

Robert Horry got his 7th ring - the most by a non Celtics player. He had won 1 with Housten Rockets in 1994 & 95, 3 with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000, 01 & 02 & 2 with the SPURS in 2005 & 07.

Michael Finley was the happiest of them all with his first NBA ring in the dying days of his glorious NBA career. Finley had no trophy to keep but he did get the game ball - "I might just put it in the bed between me and my wife," he said.

To conclude - I love the SPURS they are awesome and deserve to win the NBA title.
