Justin Henin , world no1 according to WTA rankings , triumped over the all powerful 7th seed Serena Williams in the quarter finals of Wimbledon 2007. Both of them played great tennis but in the end Henin won 6-4 , 3-6 , 6-3 over Serena. In the first set they were head to head 4-4 but Henin overpowered Serena to gain a one set advantage. Serena displayed great strength & used her tactics in the second set for a win, her grunts becoming even more prominent. In the 3rd set Henin gained an advantage of 3-0 over Serena, Serena won a couple of sets after that but she just couldnt get it right to turn things over. In the end petit looking Justin who proved to she was truly No.1! She is now through to the semis to face French woman Marion Bartoli(Ranked 18).
Meanwhile Serena's elder sister Venus Williams beat Sharapova 6-1, 6-3 to enter the quarter finals to meet 5th seeded Kuznetsova. It seemed nothing could go wrong for Venus on the 4th of July. With her display of strong determination & conviction she eliminated Sharapova from Wimbledon. Sharapova was struggling to get back into the game & Venus's consistence made it even more impossible for her! So its celebration time for Venus , who's been struggling with her injuries for almost a year but for the world no 2 Maria Sharapova it was really a humiliating defeat!
